Man! I got F.E.A.R. for Christmas and it's been nothing but trouble to get it installed. I keep getting a CRC error saying that the cab file on disc 3 doesn't match the one on disc 1. I went to the Vivendi/Universal site and they had suggestions for installing but none of them worked. I finally tried installing it on one of my other computers that wouldn't even be able to play it and it installed fine on the first try. So then I copied the folder over to my gaming machine and tried to start it up. It came up and said there was an update and do I want to download the update. I say sure and it goes to it downloading the file. That took like 5 minutes and then it ran the install. The install comes back and says F.E.A.R.is not installed on my machine. So I go back to the other machine and copy the reg key off that machine and line by line recreate it on the gaming machine. Run the update again and half way through the install I get the CRC error again. Went back to the old computer and got the update and then had to copy the whole folder back over to the game machine. The game is finally up and running but I'm going to bed now. Maybe I can check it out tomorrow.
