Shweet! I just found out you can download the full version of Forsaken for free from Forsaken Planet! That game brings back memories. I use to kick Sonic Reducer's butt on that game every time. I was thinking I could set up a multiplayer server on Quake Park but then I just downloaded it and played it a little and I think I'm gonna be ill. Playing in three dimensions like that was cool once but now I feel myself getting all disoriented and feel like I'm gonna puke. Download it yourself and see if you can handle it.

The DOH! Network Soldier of Fortune 2 server is running again. I will hopefully have another instance running on the Quake Park server along with maybe an Unreal Tournament 2004 demo server this weekend. Check the DOH! Network game servers page for the latest servers.

I was thinking just now that maybe Shaka's surprise was that he was gonna have a LOST season premiere viewing party tonight! That would be shweet except for the fact that I didn't get invited. That assmonkey! I can't believe he would have a LOST season premiere viewing party and didn't invite me!! Ah well. I probably wouldn't go anyway since it's a school night.

I was slightly disappointed last night to find that I was not able to add custom ringtones to my LG VX8300 I received from Verizon. But with some work I was able to find a way to do it today so I am much happier. To find out how I really feel, click here.

I just realized while making the code for the phone stuff above that the padding on the right side of my page isn't as padded as it use to be. I'll have to look into that. Also, my code to show and hide text is pretty tight.

I was thinking when I was eating lunch today that maybe Shaka has discovered a cure for cancer! That would be shweet!

I was playing a little Enemy Territory on the Old Farts server tonight. They have the tram map from the original Wolfenstein and I always liked that map so I jumped in for a bit. I was playing for about fifteen minutes when all the sudden the video got all messed up. The only way to get out of it was to reboot the machine. I thought I could get away with keeping it cool by having the side of the case off but I guess not. I bought a new power supply the other day so I undid the one in my computer and then opened the new one and there's a big old bend in the side of it. It doesn't look like it will interfere with the fan but I'm not taking any chances. This fan power supply cost a lot of money. Looks like I'll be making another Fry's run this week.

I modified the DOH! Network game server page. Check it out by clicking here.

I was thinking about Shaka's surprise while I was repacking my new power supply back in the box and figured it out. He's getting a new job so he will have more time to update his website! That would be shweet!

It looks like the second coming of Xenu is upon us and he has unleashed his minions to attack Scientology's communications first as hackers have launched a DDOS on the Scientology website. It will be interesting to see how this battle turns out. Click here for more info.

A couple of guys from the game developer were at the office today working on Game Smash. We made a lot of progress today. There's only a couple more issues before we can go to testing with it but those will hopefully be resolved tomorrow.

I was thinking about Shaka's surprise on the way home from work today and I think really figured it out this time. He's gonna announce his candidacy for President. That would be shweet!

I saw in the Best Buy ad over the weekend that Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars for for the PC is only $19.99. I may have to stop by and pick that up on the way home. Or maybe I will save my money for Duke Nukem Forever.

A F.E.A.R. Combat server has been added over on the Quake Park server. Check out who's playing on the DOH! Network game servers page. You can get the full version of F.E.A.R. Combat free from the official site!

I was thinking about Shaka's surprise on the way to work this morning and I think I figured it out. He's getting the band back together to finally record that album. That would be shweet!

It's so nice living close to nature. There's no better way to sit back and relax with a ham sammich and watch nature right in your own backyard. You can see stuff like this... (click here).

I found a new favorite server for playing the free FPS Open Arena. Old Farts Clan is running the Excessive Plus mod for Open Arena with custom maps and models and their download speeds are super fast so you don't have to wait long before connecting. They also have an Enemy Territory server with custom maps. I'll have to check that out one of these days. I added those servers to the DOH! Network games page so you can see if I am playing. I need to update that page some more. I like it simple but there's more information about the servers that people might like to know.

I was playing Half Pint's Nintendo DS today. That Mario Kart gets addicting. I saw on the Old Farts website that Disney World is messing around with using DS's as maps when you are in the park. I coulda used that a couple of months ago. Disney World is so different from Disneyland that I always get lost trying to find the rides I want to go on. Plus when you are standing in line, you can play games on the DS for that ride. Shweet! Check out WDW Magic for a scan of the user guide and more information.

No new news to report on the Shaka surprise. Maybe he's gonna open that cybercafe he was talking about a while ago. That would be shweet!

Electronic Arts announced this morning that the next Battlefield will be free and cartoony. Money will be made by way of advertising and micro-transactions and the game will feature matchmaking so that newbs don't end up fighting hard core gamers. The game is expected to hit the web this summer. For more info, check out the press release on the official Battlefield: Heroes website.

Looks like I'm gonna need to make another Fry's run. The power supply in the gaming machine is not spinning fast enough to keep the gaming machine from overheating.

I wonder if Shaka's big surprise is gonna be the return of the ShakaCam. That would be shweet! Some webcam pics on the webcam portal are in need of an update.

Played a little Open Arena today. You're kind of limited by the selection of skins but you can always drop a couple of models made by the community in there to make it more like old school Quake 3. Only problem is sites like Polycount aren't around to rate the models anymore. A couple of classic models look like they may be lost forever too because File Planet points to Polycount for the download. I was able to grab a bunch of models from File Planet today and dropped a couple in the server. Only problem is, none of the bots have a bot route to follow on these new maps so they just stand there until you run into them. I should be able to drop some old maps on there but I don't want to put too much new content in there or everybody will get hung up waiting for the files to download instead of playing.

I saw over on the Fickle Sickle that Shaka Zulu is gonna have a big surprise to post on his site soon. I hope it's a puppy. Everybody likes puppies. Or maybe he's gonna have a LAN. That would be shweet!

Looks like I'll have the opportunity to have a LAN in May. DairyQueen is going to see relatives and I'll have the house to myself. Hopefully some of the DCON crew is still around and gaming. In other news, there is now a Quake Park game server thanks to Mr. Green. So far Open Arena is all that's running on it but check the DOH! Network game servers page to see what other games show up over the next couple of days.

Sweet! The gaming machine is back up and running. Just needed a new motherboard. I was worried I'd have to replace a bunch of part but the troubleshooting paid off. To celebrate I added a new game on the DOH! Network Game Server Page. The game is Open Arena based on the Quake 3 engine but doesn't require Quake 3 to play. Go to File Planet to download the full game for free and jump on the server for a game. You'll need version 070 under Official Demos and version 071 under Official Patches. The game comes in PC, Linux and Mac flavors.

Work continues on Game Smash. We are doing a bunch of bug fixes and server tweaks getting it ready for QA. I was able to take a break for a bit the other day to check out the Batman Batmobile game Burning Mass is working on. Looks pretty cool. It should be live any day now.

Update on my computer not having any video... I googled around and it looks like other people have had problem with no video with this same motherboard (an ECS 915P-A) but haven't found a fix. I put an old videocard in and disconnected all of the hard drives and cd-roms and still got no video. The power supply started acting up when I was testing the videocard where when I push the power button, the computer starts for a second then stops then starts again by itself after like two seconds. Upon inspection the power supply fan either isn't spinning very fast or not spinning at all. I found my old power supply and hooked that up but it had the same result where the computer starts, stops and then starts again. So if it's motherboard related I'll have to see if I can find a replacement motherboard that will work with my current parts so I don't have to buy stuff I already have.

We got the latest build of Game Smash late Friday night. I had to upload the new front end Flash files while Spasco did the back end stuff. THere's still some connectivity issues we have to correct but Spasco has been working over the weekend to see if he can get it fixed. Lucky for me all I have to do is push a file around and update a URL in an xml file.

Had to go to a meeting last week to discuss Disney Channel Games 2008. The business unit is hoping to let their developers use actionscript 3.0 but that's still under review by QA. Hopefully they approve it soon. Camp Rock also has some content that requires actionscript 3 and that site is suppose to launch some time in the next couple of months.

Man! I got back into playing Call of Duty 2 last weekend and I can really go for some of it right now but the gaming machine is down. Nopal and Burning Mass are looking to upgrade their machines soon. Burning Mass some time in the next couple of weeks and Nopal in the next couple of months. Mr. Green has offered to let me run some servers on his FIOS connection. Problem is it's a Mac server so it's a little different than running games on Linux. It will take some investigating to figure out. Check out all the servers on the DOH! Network Games page.

DOH! Typical Leche luck. Turned on the computer this morning and no video. Tried a couple of other videocards and still nothing. Looks like the motherboard is toast again. I'll have to make a Fry's run this week. I must have jinxed myself because I was thinking I should have a LAN.

The DOH! Network game server stats page is working again. It's still a work in progress as I mess around with the PHP more to get the look just right. It is using PHP completely now and not a combination of PHP and CGI since CGI doesn't work easily with PHP5. It will allow me to get a lot more customized look and do some stuff I was trying to make work with CGI a couple of weeks ago to make it more useful. Check back later for more updates on that.

I had a chance to check out 'I am Legend' over the weekend. It's ok. Seems like a slow, long build up for an over too quick ending. If I had to rate my favorite of the three 'I Am Legend' adaptations they would be 'The Omega Man' with Charlton Heston first, 'The Last Man on Earth' with Vincent Price second and 'I am Legend' with Will Smith last. Check out the 'I Am Legend' wiki for more info on each of the movies.

Work continues on Game Smash at work. I did some beta testing last week and it is looking a lot better. There are still a couple of bugs to be worked out but those look to be coming along. We should have a new delivery inhouse next week. Alos coming soon is the official site for Camp Rock. For more info on Camp Rock, check out the wiki site.

In other Disney related news, I talked to Matt the other day about the upcoming game on Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom. HalfPint and I should have a lot of fun playing that. Expected launch date is mid-January.

Happy New Year! Still working on the server. Looks like PHP5 doesn't like my tracking program when the calls are made from an include file. Have to look into a way to fix that one of these days but it's back to work tomorrow so that will cut into my trobleshooting time.

On the work front, the Disney Channel Happy U Year project looks to have worked successfully. I was able to tie in Disney's registration to a website and video upload site so that kids could upload music videos and shout outs to friends and family. It turned out to be pretty simple when it came down to writing the scripts. The only other big issue to be resolved is the Game Smash game for Phineas and Ferb. My part is done except for the occasional answering questions about the login API. There are some outstanding issues one of the other developers is working on with the database stuff that will hopefully be resolved in time for the February launch.
