More proof that Batman is a jerk. He saves Gotham City but leaves Harley Quinn locked in a cell in an abandoned movie studio with several dead bodies outside her cell to look at all day. Who is feeding her? Does Alfred come over? There's no bathroom in that cell! What the heck, Batman?
Thanks to Nopal for pointing out the DOH! Network E-Cards aren't working again. I really need to update that cgi to something more current that doesn't break all the time.
I don't get Apple products. Teen Leche asked for some new ringtones and when I plugged in her iPhone, iTunes restored her iPad backup to the phone so all her contacts were removed. Luckily there was a backup in the cloud but you have to log in like 20 times to get anything done on iDevices. And even after I log in 20 times, the App Store still asks for Dairy Queen's log in info. Whaaat? And why do I have to turn off 'Find My iPhone' when I want to upload ringtones? That's a good way to get it turned off and forgotten about and then I can't the iPhone if it gets lost.
Playing Batman™: Arkham Knight. Batman can be a real jerk to Robin. The Boy Wonder only wants to help but Batman is always putting him down. Not cool, Batman. Not cool at all.
Happy New Year! I thought I was going to have to rebuild the DOH! Network server for the new year when I woke up Christmas morning to find the server was down. It looked like the power supply had died but after leaving it off for about 30 minutes, it started working again as normal. There is something screwy with DHCP assigning IPs to the internal network that I think I resolved but haven't gotten around to restarting the server to see if I really did. I should probably do that.
Got the troubles Batman: Arkham Knight game for Christmas. It still has issue at least for me. The audio doesn't match up with the characters talking so it looks like I'm watching a news broadcast where one of the people is in a foreign country using their cellphone. A lot of awkward pauses. Also, the Batmobile will go in the wrong direction in the middle of a chase. That could be just my bad driving but it can really get off track some times.
Been working on updating the spelling bee tester app for Little Leche I made last year that uses the text to speech feature of modern browsers. It would be nice if Merriam Webster had a json api for pronunciation, definition and uses in a sentence but they currently only serve xml and I don't want to redo the code because xml is so 2012. I did update the page to use fetch instead of XMLHttpRequest though and that's pretty cool. Also added support for hitting the 'Enter' button instead of having to click the 'Submit' button.
Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after a little over a week off. I kinda like staying home and playing games/practicing my coding all day but this last year went by pretty quickly. I expect 2016 to go by even faster and it will be time for another Christmas vacation in no time.
