Finally made it passed the tough section in Doom (2016) just after getting the BFG that gave me so much trouble and then got corrupted. After dying repeatedly to issues like weapon switching stopped working or getting stuck in a corner, I got down to a Mancubus, a Cacodemon, and a Possessed Security but for some reason, they all got stuck on higher levels and woouldn't come after me and I didn't have any long range weapons. I forgot I have to hit a key for the BFG because it doesn't come up in when I roll the wheel on the mouse but luckily, i was able to take a chainsaw to the Mancubus and that gave me a bunch of gear so I could take out the other two without getting hit myself. So now I am in a new area and happy again. I need to check if I can back up my save file and delete the corrupt save.
DOH! Nopal sent me some pics of the old April Fools Day sites we use to do for the DOH! Network. Classic reskins like 'Leche and Hutch' or 'Leche McGuire'. I was going to send him the links becuase they were in a subfolder on the site but it looks like at some time in the past, I went through and deleted a bunch of folders and those sites were deleted by mistake. I checked the network storage, my gaming machine, and the server but no luck. They may be somewhere like on a cd-rom somewhere but who knows where all my cd-roms went in the last move. If I can find them, I will have to make copies on all possible storage locations so this doesn't happen again.
I have been looking to upgrade my monitor for a while now but it is tricky to find a good monitor that suits my needs so I have been slow to pull the trigger. One channel I have watching for monitor news is Techtesters and Anna did a review recently for the ROG Swift PG32UQ. This one looks really good and even has built in speakers. I have been looking for monitors with speakers because I don't like extra stuff on my desktop, it's another item to turn off when I am logging off, and I don't have a lot of free plugs to be plugging things into. Add to that last one that I have been known to blow fuses in a couple of rooms when I have too much pulling electricity at the same time. This monitor looks like a winner but kind of expensive but a couple of days later, Anna announced Techtesters and Asus are going to give away this monitor to some lucky participant! Check out the ROG PG32UQ Giveaway on the Techtesters YouTube page and sign up now for a chance to win! It's kind of expensive at around $1000 USD so I'd probably end up getting something cheaper since there are a lot of the reviews that say it died after a couple of hours/days so I would be worried about getting one that breaks at that price.
