I am so ready to be done with DOOM: Eternal. I am hopefully in the last couple of stages judging how the story line is going but then I realized when I was starting it up the other day, I have two expansion packs, DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part One and DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part Two in it. DOH!. And then Bethesda Softworks releases a DOOM: The Dark Ages - Developer Direct video a couple of days ago that looks awesome. Check out the video for some new Doom: The Dark Ages footage. It looks like you can make it super duper easy mode by adjusting some settings when the default easy mode isn't enough for guys like me. DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15, 2025.
Well, the holiday is over. Back to work tomorrow. Spent most of the day trying to get an image gallery working on the server. Thanks to Alien Bob I was able to get Docker working so I could run Immich. It looks pretty good so far. I found out my camera is screwed up and the date is set to 2005 though so all my pictures end up in 2005.
The last couple of updates to Minecraft have not done much to make me want to play it. I found a couple of test chambers but these things are huge making them a pain to anvigate and you are not guaranteed to get keys to unlock the Ominous box so you have to keep going back and battling bad guys over and over again. Not fun. And the Pale Garden is just a gray version of existing forests. Yes, there is a new Shy Guy-like tree bad guy that tries to get you when your back is turned until you find his heart in a tree and kill it. What would be cool and super easy to make is a bear in the woods. They already have a polar bear. Just re-color it and put it in forest biomes. That would make the game more interesting when walking through the woods.
It is interesting to see how many Overwatch streamers switched to Marvel Rivals. I always assumed the streamers had contracts with the games they feature since they always get advanced previews but it looks like that is not the case as some of my favorites just switched when Marvel Rivals launched. Streamer Nik once told me 'You won't keep viewers if they get bored so you have to always have something new'. He was talking about Minecraft and staying on top of the updates but Overwatch interest looks to be waning so it looks like interest is drying up. Steam Current Player Count is not the total number of players as not everyone is playing the games on Steam but in the last 48 hours, Marvel Rivals has been in the number 3 spot with a peak of 496,569 players while Overwatch 2 at 82nd on the list peaked with 33,506. I thought a wwhile ago that I could keep playing Overwatch forever but the game changed with the release of version 2 and it doesn't feel right anymore. The same thing happened with Team Fortress 2. Head on over to your favorite online game download app and grab one or all of these games for free.
I may have the secure certificates issue that occurs every three months finally under control using Acme PHP. I think I just need to run the request step for each URL now. At least the sites were down and I ran that and they started working. Fingers crossed. If it is the solution then I just need to set up a cron job on the server to automate it.
