Woohoo! Went to jump into the Deathcon Unreal Tournament 2003 server so I could get my but kicked by Grapple but he left right before I joined. Then two other players showed up and I managed to beat them. The best part is it was a flawless victory. Shweet! That means I didn't die during the whole match. If you had been watching the new Spiff-O-Cam popup, you coulda followed along but since I didn't mention it till now, you'll just have to check out this screenshot.
Harpo's Bizarre is sporting a Team Arena server again. It should be running Harvester right now but I don't think it says that in the q3plug server info.
Had a good 1vs1 match of SoF2 tonight. I think the other guy thought I was cheating and left because he couldn't kill me. I was just lucky to have spotted him first every time although a couple of times I thought he spotted me first and ducked for cover. Playing with the joystick/mouse config is actually a lot easier than I thought. I was able to sneak around the Columbia 2 map and get the drop on him repeatedly.
I was doing some stuff on the server tonight and was able to view what was going on in the Soldier of Fortune II server I have and somebody kept saying my server was jewish. No idea what that mean. I guess it's not good because it was used in conjunction with lag which means it's not good. The person who was saying it has been on the server a lot so I don't know why this person would keep coming back if they only complained when they got here. Mine is not the only server out there and I don't claim to have a fast server. It says right on the intro page that it is intended for LAN use. Ah well. The problem is solved. It is now password protected so only my friends can get in.
Thanks to Grapple and Subotai for the link and Lavasoft for the software. I'm talking about Ad-aware, a nifty little program that gets rid of all that spyware/ad garbage that spammers use to advertise crap or track what sites you like. You have adware if you get popups from sites that don't usually have ads. Programs like Gator and Xupiter are a couple of the big name companies that do stuff like this. Ad-aware is a free program that goes through and identifies all these ad and spy programs and then removes them from your system. It kicks ass and it's free. Shweet!
Not much gaming news to talk about lately. I spent some time messing around with the Bizarre Soldier of Fortune 2 server yesterday and think I figured out the problem with why nobody was showing up. The server tries to ping the master Raven and Gamespy servers to let them know it is there but it was associating their domain names back to the server's loopback IP. I switched the URLs to point to the actual IPs instead and the server started filling up. It got so bad I couldn't even get in because it was full. I had to set the max players limit to 10 and cap the pings at 300 so it wouldn't get laggy and it seems to be working fine now. Check the DOH! Networkgame servers page or the Bizarre games server page to see if there's a space left for you to join in.

Samuel L. Jackson is a rogue Ranger and John Travolta's out to stop him in Basic. Jeez! I should work for the studios or sumfin.
Man, those OSP updates for Soldier of Fortune II are changing every other day. The latest is beta version w and is playing on the DOH! Network and the SoF2 v1.03 server on the Bizarre.
Need to find a way to bolt down my joystick for Unreal Tournament 2003. It works really well for strafing but it keeps moving around and I end up running into things. And I didn't see any joystick config in SoF2 which stinks.
I've been trying to get a little UnConn in my gaming. Seems I'm getting beat all the time by these strafe-monkeys so in an attempt to outstrafe the strafers, I switched to a joystick/mouse config. It's actually not as hard as you would think. I just need to config my buttons a little better but it actually works pretty well with the defaults. I need to work out my left arm some though as it starts to hurt half way through a level and I have to take a break. The joystick is designed for right handed people too so it doesn't fit my hand in the best way. I also need to look into securing it to the desk a little better as it slides all over the place when I am in the heat of battle and I end up hitting the monitor or turning the thing around.
The space shuttle Columbia was destroyed on rentry this monring. Check your local news station for more info.
