DOH! Noticed this morning that I never got Samba working after I rebuilt the server a while back. I copied all of my original Samba configs over and it is running but I can't connect to any of the shared locations from the Windows box. Spent a couple of hours messsing around with it and didn't get it to work but also broke the Plex server. Figures. After uninstalling and reinstalling like six times, Plex is finally working. Samba is still broken
At level 587, I am in the home stretch on trying to reach level 601 in Overwatch and that silver profile frame. It's been slow going the last couple of weeks as it seems the team balancing has not been the best at teaming em up with teams that consistenly get overrun by the opposing team lately. I did have a few wins but a lot of the matches have seen us stuck in the spawn with the enemy not allowing us to even touch the payload or point. And with Overwatch 2 coming soon, I sure hope all my character skins roll over. OW2 better not mess up the game. I use to love Team Fortress 2 but then they added too much stuff and it just became a big mess and I can't get in to that game anymore.
An update on my Steam level 50... It's been like 6 months since I achieved level 50 and I am guaranteed a card pack whenever somebody crafts a badge. I have gotten exactly one card pack. I need to buy a game on release instead of waiting till the game has run its course and been released at a cheap price becuase nobody crafts new badges this late for any of the games I own.
Managed to break my Logitech G432 headphones the other day. Think I might have run them over when pushing in my chair. They didn't actually fall apart until I was in a game of Overwatch and one side fell off. Luckily, we were getting overrun and the game was almost over. I decided I was going to treat myself to a really nice pair of wireless headphones because I don't buy myself a lot so I checked out a bunch of review sites. The headphones at the top of every review site list was the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones. I found them for $20 less at Best Buy than Amazon and they were available for pick up in an hour. Sweet! So now that I have had them for about a week, it's time for my official review.
Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Review
The review sites say the sound is much better than other headphones and the 7.1 surround sound is the best they have heard. Maybe I don't have them set up correctly but I don't really notice the surround sound. The sound is good but is it better than the Logieech G432? I dunno. I'm no audiophile.
Pros
- They sound good.
- They're wireless.
- They don't have the Logitech blue trim that flaked off after about a month.
Cons
- There is a bee-boop every now and then. This may be an issue with my computer thought because my audio when using the G432s use to switch between headphones and external speakers for a second or two. That may be what's causing the bee-boop.
- They aren't the fanciest looking headphones with no lights or knobs other than the sound and mute and power buttons but do you really need lights on your headphones when you're gaming? Who's gonna see 'em? Nobody's going to spend that much time behind you to notice that your headphone color is the same as your mouse and keyboard and it's a drain on battery life. This may actually be a Pro and not a Con.
