Other than that not much else is going on. Been working on a new server and it's become a big headache with things not working right.
DOH! Had a power failure here right after I left for work and the site was down most of the day. It's back up now so no need to panic. On an interesting side note, the main server didn't come back up after the power failure but the new server that is coming soon started up even though it wasn't on in the first place.
Auuughh! Been super busy at work lately and then coming home to do some configing on the new server has left me with no time to update the site. The new server is almost ready to go primetime but there's still a couple of things to be ironed out first. Until then check out some trailers.

Shweet! Turns out my computer problem was just some conflicting IDE devices and after messing around with it I was able to fix the problem shortly after I posted Saturday's news item but then I went out of town for a couple of days and didn't have time to update the post. Now I just need to configure the new server and I can get rid of all the junk that's lying around on the floor in my computer room.
My cable company finally added Sci-Fi to their lineup about a two weeks ago but didn't have a chance to check until this weekend. One of the new shows they have starting in March is Tripping the Rift the series. Shweet! Hopefully it stays as funny and true to the original animated online short that I can't find online now because Sci-Fi probably snatched up all forms of Tripping the Rift media when they bought the rights to it.
My main computer went down today so I will be reinstalling software on that and working on configuring the new game server all weekend so don't expect to see me online for a bit.
Shweet! I came home a little while ago and checked my mail and it was dog slow so I tested my Internet speed and it had dropped to 768kbps download. I figured I'd try rebooting the modem and when I ran the speed test again, my download speed is now 5096kbps. What does that mean? 620kbps downloading the Far Cry single player demo. If you don't know, that's really fast.

I downloaded the Linux server version of Battlefield 1942 and the Desert Combat v.7 patch to the server today and wouldn't ya know I ran out of room on the server. Luckily I picked up the parts to put together a new server yesterday and I'm in the process of building it now. It will hopefully be up and running some time in the next week.
Doh! Been busy at work and not in the mood to update the site when I get home lately. I'll try to rectify that now.
Word from Epic Games is we may see an Unreal Tournament 2004 demo some time in the next two weeks. That would be cool if somebody were having a LAN soon.

My new connection is working. My upload speed is a pretty solid 500k so the site should load a lot faster for you but I'm only getting around a 2 meg download. Kinda bummed about that. Was hoping for 6 megs. Might just need tweaking of the server or checking with my connection at DSL Extreme to see if they are still making adjustments. Should know more maybe tomorrow.

Spent some time working on the code on this page to make it load a little faster. The changes aren't ready to be used on every page except this page but it's a start.
