I did some work around the house this weekend and now I'm sore. Adding shelves in the garage turned out to be a harder task than putting in a whole house fan. The first one took almost all day to get just right. The second when in really quick but that first one scraped up my knuckles and worked some muscles that hadn't been used for a while and are now sore. I have two more shelves to put up and they should go a lot quicker now that I know what I am doing.
Ok, the server is back up and the DNS change looks to be complete. I am still not more enthusiastic about updating though. I was hoping after the two weeks off from the computer would make me all amped to get back to posting but no. And after a week on the new RT, the upload speed doesn't seem to be much of an improvement. It is hopefully just the ramp up to full speed is taking a little longer than I had hoped. We'll see in a couple of days I suppose.
I downloaded a ton of demos the other day but I haven't had time to play much of anything. I get a game jonse going at work but then when I get home there's always too much other stuff to do or I am totally not in the mood. I think I'm coming down with whatever illness the rest of the family has had for the last four days. My nose is running like crazy but I don't have the sore throat... yet.
Test. Test. Is this thing on? Huh? Oh, hey! The site's back up. DSL Extreme has gotten me moved over to the new RT and now I have to wait for the ramp up period to end so I am back up at full speed. I could have been up a couple of days earlier but egrep was out of town and couldn't change the DNS stuff over till he got back and I had a typo in the network settings anyway but enough of that. What's happened since the site went down?
The DOH! Network will be down for a while starting some time on Tuesday. A temporary news page will be up during that time but most of the other pages will be 404 until the connection is restored. I'll update the temporary page once I have an idea when the full site will be back up. Once the server comes back up, the speeds to and from The DOH! Network site should be faster. Current speeds are around 5 megabit download / 400 kbps upload. The faster upload will make for a faster website experience for you.
The Call of Duty expansion pack, United Offensive, has gone gold. Expect it to hit store shelves on September 15.
Check out new trailers for 'The Final Cut' and 'Faster' on the Spiff Movie Page.
DOH! No more Desert Combat updates. Digital Illusions, the makers of Battlefield 1942 have bought Trauma Studios. All assets of Trauma Studios become DICE properties and the Trauma crew are now employees and are working on a new mod to be powered by the Battlefield 2 engine. Get all the details on the official Desert Combat site or the Trauma Studios site.
The DOH! Network will be down starting on Tuesday next week. It should be back up hopefully within two weeks once the connection has been switched to a closer connection. The closer connection should improve the time it takes for the site to load by improving the upload speed.
