Finally the big project I have been working on for like four weeks now is starting to come together. We have a big promotional thing that ties in with a third party to redeem codes for free stuff and from the beginning the project has been a lot of running in circles with revisions and problems popping up right and left. There are a few more minor details to be worked out and we should be good for the official launch on October 3rd. Cross my fingers and knock on wood.
Finally finished FarCry. Great game over all but the ending cinematic seemed kinda abrupt. I beat the game and sat back to enjoy the finale but it was over in like ten seconds.
There was a bit at the end in the dam where I thought I might have screwed up by choosing the hardest skill level thinking I wouldn't be able to finish the game but I figured out a technique to beat the guys in the long hallway. When you come in and the door closes behind you so you can't get out, go prone and move so that you are on the left side of the left pillar. Throw a rock diagonally to the right side of the right pillar about half way down the hall to draw the enemy out. Then start shooting grenades at him when he comes out. More guys will run that way to see what's up. If you keep hitting the walls in that area, the guys will get killed by splash damage and the explosions hitting the walls disorients them as to which direction you are attacking from. I used the OICW Advanced Assault Rifle because of the flat trajectory of the grenades and the ability to shoot five grenades before having to reload. You may end up with only one guy left and he's the rocket launcher guy but if he's the only one left, he's easy enough to dodge as you shoot him.
A little further in I had to fight Krieger, the leader of the bad guys, and like five or six of his lackeys. For this part I was in a lower section of the room with a desk between me and the bad guys. I used the AG36 Assault Rifle because it lobs the grenades unlike the OICW Advanced Assault Rifle. Using the AG36 Assault Rifle's grenade launcher I lobbed grenades over the desk and hit a short pillar on the other side and a column to the right of it. The splash damage took out most of the henchmen but you have to keep glancing to the left when reloading because one guy will go over that way eventually. Watch for him and lob a couple of grenades his way before going back to shooting straight over. By the time I had run out of grenades for the AG36 Assault Rifle all the grunts were dead leaving only Krieger. It didn't take much to finish him off after the grenading I had done over the desk.
Not sure if I want to start Call fo Duty 2 or F.E.A.R. next.
