After many google searches and resets I finally figured out what was wrong with the Linksys router and why it wouldn't let me connect to the internet and it turned out to be something simple. DOH! Supposedly a Linksys router is supposed to be able to connect to other routers by using the advanced options but if you read all the forums you find in Google they all say you have to buy some third party updates and for the most recommended one you have to pay 20 bucks a year to keep up to date. I would rather go buy a wireless access point before I buy some software that requires a fee every year. Anyway back to my problem. The set up is modem > Linux server with a static IP > switch > Linksys wireless router with a static IP to the server but then giving out dynamic IPs > dhcp laptop. After all this time of thinking router was not working right I did ipconfig on the laptop and realized it had the router as the default gateway. To fix this I viewed the laptop's wireless connection's properties. In the properties that popped up I have IP address and DNS server address set to obtain automatically. Click on the advanced tab at the bottom and you will see a new popup for IP addresses and default gateways. I added the IP of my server and clicked OK to close the popups. Opened up a browser and went to Google and it loaded. Sweet! I would think this would work for router to router setups too.

That was definitely not the best LOST episode of the season for sure. The whole Kate back story was nothing but fluff to fill the hour. Unles her husband is going to show up in a later episode in the season. A new bad guy was named in this episode and it sounds like he's got more pull than Ben. Could Jacob be Kate's husband? We'll have to wait at least twelve weeks to find out if we're lucky but I don't expect to see Jacob till the end of the season at least.

Tonight is the fall finale of LOST. I don't expect to have any questions answered. It's probably going to leave us with like six different cliff hangers. DAMN YOU LOST!!

Bongoboy loaned me season 2 of Arrested Development. I never watched the show when it was on but it's pretty good. Not laugh out loud funny but it keeps me intrigued to know what's gonna happen next. I think it's because I can relate to Jason Bateman's character and how he has so much bad luck. I couldn't imagine having to wait a week to find out what happens next like I am doing with LOST. It makes me think I shouldn't watch anything on tv anymore and then just get it all in one sitting when it comes out on DVD.

A bunch of people have been telling me I should watch Heros. Some even dare to say it's better than LOST. I watched an episode the other day and it was alright I suppose but it didn't make me want to see what happens next. I think the reason LOST is so good and Heroes isn't is because Heroes is exactly like every other drama on television with drugs and murder and junk. LOST has all that too but at the end of the day on LOST you're still on a tropical island. How cool is that? Sure, the Others are trying to drag you off to experiment on you or some monster in the woods wants to beat you against a tree but you're on an island! That rocks!

I turned on the Unreal Tournament 2004 server on the DOH! Network so I can get some game on. I can add bots if nobody's around so I don't have to wait for somebody to show up to play. I guess I could always go find another UT server out there somewhere but that's too much work to open the game and click the ping tab to find a low ping server that's playing the gametype I want.

Steam got screwed up on my computer somehow too. I reinstalled it but all my Steam games were gone. I have Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2 downloading now but I won't be playing them tonight for sure.
